My maternal grandfather. Born in Pictou County, NS, in 1875. He was one of 10 surviving children in a dirt-poor farm family. He made good on his vow never to become a farmer by taking a degree at Dalhousie University and a Masters of Divinity at Princeton, when Woodrow Wilson was the university president. I never met him, as he died in 1944.
